When ever we update LM_Service component, SMD agents also get updated. But in our landscape most of the SMD agents are updating along with LM_Service but few agents are missing to update and they are in not connected state at Agent administration page. Checked at OS level they are up and running, please suggest the fix for this issue.

I want to know about the concept of Reference Folder used in the Template Project to enable the editing of the documents when the Roll out / Major Release Project is created in different KW enhancement.
I have referred the Document Management Standard of Solution Manager and in that it was mentioned that if the Roll out Project is created in a different KW enhancement and the documents are linked, still its possible to change the document in the Template Project from the Roll out project without creating a copy (late copy) of it in the Roll out project as per the usual behavior.
In the document a note 1236369 - Copying documents from templates is mentioned but proper explanation is not given. Even in the best practice document on Document Management has a very small paragraph explaining this concept and does not mention how to create the Reference folder.
Has anybody tried creating the reference folder?

I am upgrading the solution manager 7.1 to the latest support packs (Sp11) and NW stack to SP14 as per maintenance optimer calculations using SUM (Software Update Manager). i am now encountering problems under the Preprocessing and phase MAIN_SHDCRE/SHADOW_NTACT_CP.. It seems like it failing to create the indexes on the shadow tables as per below log:

i am doing Managed system configuration but stuck on "step 8 - Configure Automatically" with below error.
My SOLMAN version is 71 SPS11.
Error while calling Diagnostics setup web service. Check note 1822831.

I have check the note 1822831 but not help at all.
Also, i have tested the webservice connection with out issue and JAVA UME master client have set to client 100.
i have also able to login to http://localhost:50000 with user SM_INTERN_WS without issue.
Basically i have the same error for SAPRouter setup, Extractors Setup, Introscope Host Adapter and Generate System-level Metrics in this step 8.
It seen like authorization issue. But i have no idea where to verify the user id and authorization.

We have implemented Technical monitoring in our Solution Manager(7.1 SP8) system. We are reciving the mails for the yellow and red alerts.
Is there any way to differentiate the red and yellow alerts for mail alerts(like sending alerts with "high importance" or to different distribution list). As we need to prioritize the alerts, like Red alerts needs to be solved first.

We're using RMAN without BR*Tools for backing up all SAP and non-SAP Oracle databases.
Is there any chance to get info about last successful backup in DB12 transaction on SolMan?
Or it's only possible if you schedule backup jobs using DB13?

I have followed the steps and now able to create incident from my ECC development system which is reflecting in solman.
But I'm having issue that the created incident in ECC is not getting assigned to the person/team in solman.
Also not I'm confused that whether I'm using the right doc or is there any updated doc specific for solman 7.1 sp10.
Please provide your valuable inputs and suggestions.

Hi Folks....
Something weird is happening in my solution manager.
I associated my managed system with a SOLUTION via SMSY and also I checked that configuration in SOLMAN_WORKCENTER -> SETUP and everything looks fine.
When I go to SOLMAN_WORKCENTER -> System Monitoring -> Reports I do not see the solution which was associated, as I explained above.
Has anyone faced that issue?

I have a problem in technical monitoring from Solution Manager, and i would be happy, if someone could help me with this.
1 - SAP Solution Manager is trying to ping a IP that doesnt exists
2 - In the screenshot, the line is: "Ping to listener: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port not successful".
Let's call the host of my managed object as "$HOST_NAME", and the IP as "$HOST_IP".
1 - The IP of $HOST_NAME is one, and the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx that SolMan is trying to ping, is another, the ip doesnt even exists, because i can't reach him from anywhere. Is it not wrong? I think the "Listener" should be the $HOST_IP, not another...
2 - The correction for this problem, would be the adjustment of the "Listener" to the $HOST_IP? How could i do this?

Did someone know how to change default incidents sorting in ITSM Incidents search screen?
Now when I run this Search screen with defined parameters all incidents are sorted by Incident ID Ascending and I would like to heve this Descending by default for all users.
Reason is simple. To see new incidents on the top of search list.
PS: This setting was changed after SOL system update from SP8 to SP10.

Post completion of migration when SOLMAN system started,bulk trace files are getting generated causing /usr/sap/<SID> mount point to get full.

Hi,
I have recently upgraded Diagnostic Agent in QAS with Microsoft failback cluster environment . After upgrade, I checked log files for SMD Agent and observed that it reads a false IP address with 169.254.*.* series. This issue seems to be related with APIPA (Automatic Private IP Addressing). The IP address 169.254.0.0 to 169.254.255.255 is APIPA range and is reserved for Microsoft. I searched on forum and got a note (1365796 – Local host name resolution fails in Windows failover cluster) relevant to this issue and applied it on host server. After applying the note, I restarted DAA, but still problem is the same. In host server, the command of ping -4 <localhostname> gives the correct output of server IP.
Could anyone tell me why is it happening? Or is there something more to be concentrated to solve this issue?
I have opened OSS message and communicating with SAP since last one week. Quick reply will be highly appreciated.

when i try to Create Analisys, the system recognize the logical component but it can't find the Workload
and also the last EWA there isn't

I am configuring SAP SOLMAN 7.1 ChaRM and face issue with Critical Object Check functionality.
When i test to approve the transport containing the critical object in ChaRM the message appeared as successfully approved but when i checked
it was not as the critical sign still in red color instead of green and it is not allowed me to release the transport request from ChaRM.
Does anyone experience the same issue? and what would be the solution.
