SAP Solution Manager CHARM configuration

Hi Members,

 

Glad to be back on this forum. Creating this discussion to deepen my knowledge on the Solution manager CHARM configuration.

 

Currently we are using Symmetry CM tool for our change management process. Now we have build our Solution manager 7.1 SP11 environment, we are thinking of migrating to Charm from Symmetry considering the various benefits we are going to gain off.

 

As of now, we have configured Basic and System Configuration for my Solution manager system and also have ran Managed system configuration for most of systems in our landscape.

 

So what would be the next steps we need to consider for CHARM configuration or migrate to CHARM from existing tool.

 

Also if we are going to use CHARM,  we need to create users in Solution manager system for their usage. Would that cost additional user license costs?

 

And what to be consider during the configuration for Portal Java systems?

Does it work with the CTS+ ?

 

Really appreciate any help or advise on this.

Table with issue numbers

Hi,

 

I am on SolutionManager 7.1.

There I get mails for closed issues with number 80000010511

I can't figure out where this message comes from.

In SOLMAN_ISSUE_MGMT I can't find this issue, these numbers goes to 800000103xx.

 

Does anybody know where I could find this issue?

Which table holds the issue number?

Hi All

 

 

I am configuring ChaRM for a 3 tier landscape in Solution Manager 7.1 SP14.

 

I have Dev as a real system and QA , PROD as virtual TMS systems.

 

I have done the configuration real to ChaRM and I am currently at the step where I need to activate ChaRM for a maintenance project.

 

before activation of chaRM I did a consistency check for the project where in the ended up getting below errors for RFCs :

SAP Solution Manager - Service Desk WebService API

Currently I am trying to setup an integration scenario to an external helpdesk using the IT Service Management WebService API

via the customer's own integration platform. I have already configured the logical port successfully receiving a System Guid from the integration platform. But the Webservice works in an synchronous mode so far. But in our scenario an asynchronous processing mode would be preferred in order to avoid timeout exceptions.

 

Now comes my question:

Does anybody know if this Webservice can also be configured as an asynchronous Webservice and how to do this?

Hello,

 

we want to monitor special exceptions with the Solution Manager and generate an alert in case of problem.

 

We found several documents that describes the configuration.

 

Some of them says, that we must create our own Metrics and Alerts in System-Monitoring-Configuration,

 

others are suggesing to use the configuration-button in the Exception-Management (part of Root Cause Analysis).

 

Which is the correct way ? It looks like both do the same !?

 

We tried both and doesn't get any alerts... The metrics are showed in System-Monitoring but the status is grey.

 

We know that there are ABAP-Dumps in the System and we can see them in the exception-management,

 

but no alert is generated.

 

Any suggestions ? First of all -> Which is the correct way to activate exception-management in MAI !?

I hope i posted in the right thread.

 

 

In SU3, I'm unable to add new Set/Get parameter ID under Parameters tab, with error message Parameter XXXX does not exit.

 

 

May i know where shall i enable this parameter ID prior to this.

I have done the configuration for DVM in solman_setup,But system in not visible in dvm workcenter for selection.

 

any one have any idea how to add system for analysis?

queues are strucking in smq2

Queues are struck with ready status in SMQ2.

So we are manually processing the queues are releasing from smq2.

Why it is not releasing queues Automatically  from smq2 .

Hi all

Is it mandatory, that the connection to sap must be encrypted? Is there any note or instruction where is written that saprouter-sapserv connection must be encrypted using snc(sapcryptolib). If yes share the link of that document please, if no, how can I make a connection without snc(sapcryptolib).

Best practice ChaRM when import error occurs

Hi experts for ChaRM,

could you help us with ChaRM workflow? It's not clear to us what is the best practice in Normal Change. We test all possibilites and describe procedure "What? If...".

 

We simulate: When ChangeManager set action "Released for Import" and IT Operator imports request to production system with flag error. What do we next?

 

We can set repair flag in tasklist, but it's only flag, not solution and workflow. We can't go back in action of Normal Change. There is only "Set Production Status". We suppose create next Normal Change, transport and import requests correctly into production system and then set repair flag at incorrect Normal Change. How IT Operator/ChangeManger watch over related Normal Changes?

Is there any EEM related Education available?

We have completed "Managed System Setup of BOE 4.0 system in Solman 7.1" relalted this document ; Managed System Setup of BOE 4.0 system in Solman 7.1 - SAP Solution Manager Setup - SCN Wiki

 

The problem is in Solman "Technical Monitoring" Availability is grey related the screen shot.

Clicks not getting captured for Web Application Recording through Solution Manager

Hi All,

 

I have a issue regarding web application recording through Solution Manager.

 

In Test Configuration I'm using Executable type as URL and in executable I'm giving the URL of the web application.

 

After logging in the web application its not capturing all the mouse clicks.

 

And the one which got captured is failing while executing the script.

 

I have attached screen shots for the same.

 

Is there any other way of recording web application ? Or is there any setting which I'm missing ??

 

Kindly help me on this.
