All,
Apologies if this is in another thread. I was not able to find anything similar.
I have been asked to configure a custom metric and alert for dialog users that have gotten locked in monitored systems. I have gotten those alerts to be sent to us when a user has locked their account due to unsuccessful logon attempts. The standard Alert message sent in email simply states that a user has locked their account. You have to open the alert to read the alert text message to find out exactly which user has locked their account.
I have been told this is not sufficient. The user account that is locked must appear in either the body of the email from the alert or must appear in the subject line.
I have read the blogs / notes / instructions and it appears the body of the email from the alert cannot be modified. However, I have found that the subject can be modified relatively easily. I followed the blog to modify the subject of the email but I have two issues there:
1. I cannot figure out how to get the actual locked username to appear in the subject line.
2. The subject line seems to be limited to a short number of characters. Do we know the limit and can it be made longer?
I know this can be done with code but it might be beyond my ABAP skills. I am trying to determine if it is feasible and then if so, determine the development efforts and skills to make it happen.
Has anyone done this already?
Any advice or assistance would be kindly appreciated.
Thank-you in advance,
Deb Nugent.
