How to determine used connection count on connection pool programatically

Hi,

In project we developing, we are using SAP JPA 1.0 and need to access connection pool informations, used connections, max connections etc. for monitoring our applications datasource and pool usage. But we want access to this data programmatically in application and send this informations to users with mail. Is there a method to getting connection pool statistics ? How Open SQL Monitor getting informations ? Does Netweaver give this informations ?
