Non-SAP system monitoring using Solman

Hi

We have a third party system talking to SAP ECC. Our customer wants to monitor that application using SAP solution manager. What is the best way to do it.

1) Can we push monitoring data from third party systems to ECC which can be psuhed to Solman by some means and viewed from Solman. How can we achieved this?

2) Installing Diagnostics Agent and SAPHostAgent on the third party system and configuring it in Solman.

We are looking if option 1 is possible as the third party system we are talking is an intergation product so pushing data from it is very easy and they have some monitoring adapter already.
